It has always been quite a rare stone and has been used in jewelry such as rings and pendants.

Variscite is one of the rarer and lesser-known gemstones, it’s often mistaken for Turquoise. The main difference is that variscite tends to be greener than blue like turquoise. The different shades of green are caused by chromium, and there are even rare red pieces of Variscite. It has a Mohs hardness of 3.5-4.5.
