Marcasite is a stone that is chemically the same as Pyrite, but the two stones differ by their crystalline structures. It is a pale yellow color to almost white and has a bright metallic luster. Marcasite tarnishes to yellowish or brownish color and gives a black streak. It has a Mohs hardness of 6-6.5.
